SATURDAY - DECEMBER 22, 2007

The first day of winter arrived and it was cold. Ten people assembled on the tennis courts to play doubles. Many players wore Santa hats for the occasion. One team sat out in every round. The male player that sat out with us played in John's group since he was short one player.

Zack's grandson from Brazil, Arturo, played with us today. He will be visiting for a few weeks.

The refreshments were a little more upscale since there were only 3 more days to christmas. There were turkey meat balls, ham slices, buns, cheese rolls, etc. that was topped off with Mumm's champagne. They'll have a hard time topping this spread for New Years next week.

It was in the 40's at the start, calm and overcast. The sun finally came out around RAT time. We had 4 teams. Rudy and Sabrina were the clear winners, winning all 3 sets. Here are the results:

Saturday - December 9, 2007

December is here and the mornings are colder. If we had some rain the mornings would be warmer but the courts would be wet.

An extra bonus this morning was the gift of a pass from the club for all of the players participating in today's event. An early Christmas present from the club.
