Saturday - January 12, 2008

The rain on Saturdays finally let up so that we could get our Saturday tennis in. Eight of us congregated on cold, but dry tennis courts. A BIG Thank You to everybody since they all arrived on time and we were able to get an earlier than usual start on our round robin.

Some bad news that we received was that Zack had injured his right eye and will not play for a while. Everybody wishes him a speedy recovery.

The teams today that were chosen in accordance to the player ratings were as follows:

Sabrina/Linda
Harry/Nancy
Bob S./Louise
Larry/Sue

Larry and Sue won in all three rounds to take first. Sue was scampering all over the courts on her new knees and hitting winners. She is now going to send a thank you to her surgeon for the new knees. Bob S. and Louise took second by winning in two out of the three rounds. The results were as follows.

Larry/Sue over Sabrina/Linda (6-1)

Larry/Sue over Bob S./Louise
Harry/Nancy over Sabrina/Linda (6-2)

Larry/Sue over Harry/Nancy (6-2)

The refreshments after tennis were varied, plentiful and delicious. Everybody had a good time.
