Saturday - April 21, 2007

It was cool but dry. Its scheduled to rain later today. 10 people congregated to play tennis. Two people (Tina and Sabrina) played singles and the rest of the people played doubles.

The teams as selected per the player ratings were as follows:

George and Zack
Justin and Harry
Larry and Louise
Richard and Carmel

For the second time in a row Harry and his partner prevented George and his partner from sweeping all three rounds. Harry and Justin lost the first two rounds but rose up in the third round. George and Zack won the first two rounds but was stopped in the third round by Harry and Justin. George and Zack wound up in a tie with Richard ans Carmel for first place. The results were as follows.

In the singles match Tina defeated Sabrina in three sets (7-5, 1-6, 6-1)

The good spring weather was on a hold today. Some areas had rain but the courts were dry.

After some switching back and forth on the format we went back to the mixed format. The teams were selected by Zack and were as follows:

Zack and Sabrina
Rudy and Harry
George and Louise
Larry and Carmel

George was on his way to sweeping all three rounds for the second week in a row as he and Louise won the in the first two rounds. In the third round they went up against Rudy and Harry who had lost both of the first two round matches. The spoiler team of Rudy/Harry stopped George's streak by beating them in the third round. George/Louise wound up in a tie with Larry/Carmel with two wins apiece. The results were as follows.

SATURDAY - MARCH 31, 2007

It was a pleasant spring morning when 9 people congregated for the weekly round robin. The teams are as pictured above. The ninth player, Zack, was the photographer.

The teams were as selected by Zack and kept changing from round to round. Harry played with Tina in the first round and with George in the last round when Sabrina had to leave. George was the big winner as his team won in all three rounds. The results were as follows.

The refreshments were as delicious as ever. There were mexican pizza from Tina; a platter with cheddar and colby jack cheese, turkey, ham and crackers from Louise; orange slices from Harry; drinks from the guys.
