Saturday - May 19, 2007

It was a mild calm spring morning at 9 AM. By 10 AM the wind speed increased and became a factor during the play. Oh well, at least it wasn't raining.

Todays lineup as put together by Zack was as follows:

Bob S. and Carmel
Zack and Richard C.
Larry and Louise
Harry and Cathy

Sabrina and Tina played singles

Louise was at the top of her game as she and Larry won in all three rounds to take first. Harry tried to stop her in the third round but failed. Tina bested Sabrina in straight sets in singles (6-1, 6-3). The results were as follows:

ROUND ONE

Larry/Louise over Bob S./Carmel (6-2)
Zack/Richard C. over Harry/Cathy (6-3)

ROUND TWO

Bob S. over Harry/Cathy (6-5)
Larry/Louise over Zack/Richard C. (6-2)

ROUND THREE

Zack/Richard C. over Bob/Carmel (6-2)
Larry/Louise over Harry/Cathy (6-3)

The refreshments were varied and plentiful. A sampling of the goodies were as follows:

Cathy - Indian food plate with stuffed japaati
Sabrina - Sausage slices with Pat's secret dipping sauce
Louise C. - Stuffed eggs
Harry - Orange slices
Carmel - Brie, crackers and grapes
Bob S. - Sushi
Tina - Raymond Chardonnay
Louise B. - Sutter Home Chardonnay
Bottle of Merlot
Richard C. & Larry - Beer and soft drinks

Next Saturday (Memorial Day weekend) there will be a joint BBQ with our group and John's mens group.
