It was a dismal gray, damp and foggy morning. Winter appears to be around the corner. There were 8 of us this morning and the teams were selected by our player ratings. The teams were as follows:
Rudy/Carole
George/Carmel
Zack/Louise
Larry/Harry
No team was able to sweep all 3 rounds but 2 teams (George/Carmel and Rudy/Carole) tied with 2 wins apiece. The results were as follows:
ROUND ONE
George/Carmel over Larry/Harry (6-3)
Zack/Louise over Rudy/Carole (6-3)
ROUND TWO
George/Carmel over Zack/Louise (6-2)
Rudy/Carole over Larry/Harry (6-2)
ROUND THREE
Rudy/Carole over George/Carmel (6-4)
Larry/Harry over Zack/Louise (6-5)
Carole did not stay for the refreshments since she had to go care for her daughter who was expecting to deliver a new grandchild today.
The refreshments were at their usual high level. Carmel had wheat thins, orange slices and an international cheese. Louise brought out strawberries, humus and pita bread. Harry brought grapes. All the food was washed down with beer and wine coolers supplied by the men.
The tennis ratings that changed due to tday's play are as follows:
George - 4.8
Larry - 5.1-
Rudy - 5.1+
Zack - 4.4
Louise - 4
Carmel - 4.9
Carole - 4
Harry - 3.8
There will not be a Saturday Hi-Intensity Tennis next week since the group plus 4 more players will be hosted to a tennis social by Napa Valley Country Club.
