WARM MOCHA TODDIES
(from November/December 2006 Weight Watcher magazine)
1 quart fat-free half-and-half
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon instant espresso powder or 1/4 cup coffee-flavored liqueur
Frozen fat-free whipped topping, thawed, unsweetened cocoa powder, or cinnamon sticks, for garnish (optional)
Combine the half-and-half, brown sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, and cinnamon in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat until the mixture is hot and the brown sugar is dissolved, stirring frequently, 7-9 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat. Add the espresso powder or liqueur, stirring until blended. Serve at once, garnished with whipped topping, cocoa powder, or cinnamon sticks (if using).
I am the closest eye-witness to the dramatic nose-dive Zack made into the red-state zone. (It's about time!) Driven by recent political and social events, Zack made an unprecedented leap of faith across the line and came up empty-handed (as his partner, I was forced to 'retire' with him at 4-3, leaving our score 6-4 in Tina and Rudy's favor) In Zack's own words, "it was pride" that powered those legs into the cyclone/concrete zone, and because I like quotes, this one came to mind: "Pride goeth before a fall"..Get well soon, Zack,
This is a response to mizct. I was wounded in action, so where is my Purple Heart? My "Surge" attempt to defeat the enemy failed -- not enough "troops" in my legs, I guess. And why would I dive into a red-state zone when I thought I was already in it?
Maybe Zack is just diving deeper into the red zone, following our President's lead to 'stay the course', oh, pardon me, send more troops on a new course. Actually, I thought the red meant liberal, commie states and the blue were the hard-nose, conservatives. You can tell that I often don't pay attention. Zack had everyone's attention on Saturday; what a way to get attention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Hope you are feeling better, Zack!
